Dan Rather: American Journalists Too Fearful, "So-Called Debates" Are "By The Parties, For The Parties"


Well, I think Dan is right. Part of the problem was that they used to need the media for publicity. Now, there are more media outlets (on TV) so the journalists are afraid to lose their access. They'll end up like MSNBC/NBC in not getting the Palin interview, or like Maureen Dowd in getting booted from a plane. Dana Bash always has a pro-McCain tilt and she gets the interviews with him.



It will get worse, as the politicians realize they can put interviews on YouTube as infomercials.
